The Turku University of Applied Sciences is encouraging farmers in Southwest Finland and Satakunta to set up new farm-sized biogas plants.
The project involves identifying the areas and operators most favorable to biogas production. Educational events are being organized for farmers, and those interested will also be provided with the opportunity to test biogas production with movable pilot plants. In addition to this, feasibility studies are being conducted on new biogas equipment.
The project is also collecting additional information to support the decision to purchase a biogas plant: for example, the permits needed to set up a plant and the funding opportunities available.
The end goal is for the project to lead to at least one biogas plant investment and for the construction preparations to begin within the project period.
